Tourists Adore Budapest’s Mini Statues

In Budapest, an increasing number of mini statues can be discovered, which are enjoying immense popularity. These creations are the works of Mihály Kolodko, also known as Mihail Kolodko, a Ukrainian-Hungarian sculptor. Born in Uzhhorod, the artist’s name is widely recognized, especially for his mini statues located in Budapest, Uzhhorod, and Vác, which have a growing fan base.

The artist, who is of Hungarian descent on his mother’s side, completed his higher education in the city of Lviv, where he studied sculpture. Although it might be surprising given the popularity of his mini statues, Kolodko was initially interested in monumental art. After moving to Hungary, his small works began to appear in Budapest from 2017, followed by a few in Vác. Additionally, he has created large sculptures on commission for several cities in Hungary and beyond its borders.

Kolodko’s mini statues are not only popular among locals but also among tourists, who increasingly seek out these unique creations to admire and capture them.
