UNVEILING HEALTH TOURISM: FROM THE PEN OF OUR CLINIC PARTNERS
What is Reflex Massage?
Reflex massage is a specialised technique that involves applying pressure to specific points or areas of the body using precise manoeuvres. Unlike other types of massage, reflex massage does not use oil or lubricant; instead, it relies solely on the contact between the therapist’s and the client’s skin. The primary aim is to affect inner organs or other body parts connected to the treated area through sensitive nerve endings. The massage is typically carried out in one of four areas: the head and neck, the back, the chest, or the pelvis, depending on the location of health problems and the therapist’s judgment.
How Reflex Massage Helps
Reflex massage works by affecting connective tissues and the autonomous nervous system through a widespread network of free nerve endings in our skin and other sensitive receptors in connective tissues. Pain or tension from internal organs or tissues deeper under the skin often projects onto the body surface as hyperalgesic zones (painful zones) or trigger points. By manipulating the surface of the respective skin section (segment), deeper tissues can be influenced in return, thereby regulating their function.
Medical Prescription
The necessity for a medical prescription depends on the selected treatment and the individual’s current health status.

Musculoskeletal diseases (functional or degenerative): Helps alleviate pain and improve mobility.
Orthopaedic and accident rehabilitation: Aids in faster recovery post-injury.
Functional and chronic organic disorders of some internal organs: Improves the function of affected organs.
Blood circulation disorders: Enhances blood flow and overall circulation.
Dysregulation of the nervous system and endocrine glands: Helps balance and regulate these systems.
Not Advisable For:
Infectious diseases: Risk of spreading infection.
Fever and acute inflammation: Can exacerbate symptoms.
Untreated or uncontrolled hypertension: May pose health risks.
Epilepsy: Could trigger seizures.
Acute thrombosis and phlebitis: Risk of dislodging blood clots.
Leg ulcers and other skin defects: Can worsen the condition.

Incontinence: Practical difficulties during the session.
Pregnancy: Certain techniques may not be safe.
Psychosis: May not be suitable for individuals with severe mental health issues.
Alcohol or drug abuse: Can interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment.
Reflex massage is a highly effective treatment option for various conditions, particularly musculoskeletal issues, internal organ disorders, and circulatory problems. By targeting specific points in the body, it can help regulate the function of deeper tissues and organs. However, consulting with a healthcare provider is essential to ensure that reflex massage is suitable for your specific condition.
