THREAD LIFTING or FINE THREAD CONTOURING (FTC) is made of a biocompatible (does not harm the body), biodegradable (broken down or metabolized by the body) injectible material composed of poly-dioxanone and poly-glycolic-acid. These have been used medically for over 30 years in dissolvable stitches and do not require pre-treatment skin testing for allergies. FTC involves injecting fine threads into the skin and underlying tissues to redefine facial contour and stimulate the body’s own collagen. Therefore, FTC can gradually provide both filling and lifting effects.
The suggested quantity of threads depends on the area and condition treated. You have to await the collagen growth that can be seen starting at 6 to 8 weeks. The gradual but noticeable effect of a treatment with FTC may last even up to 24 months. However, individual results may vary.
Areas of treatment may require multiple sessions, usually 3 sessions at 4, to 6, weekly intervals for optimal correction. Because individual responses to FTC may vary, the exact number of treatment sessions required cannot be predicted with complete accuracy.
Downtime: the redness remains for approximately 1 day on the skin and the skin is completely healed within 2 weeks. Bruising is always possible and heals in 10-14 days. Complete recovery is seen on the 14th day. Re-touch is done only after the 3rd month.
